How it works
- Fetch — Each morning at 6 AM UTC, we pull the day's top stories from The Guardian across politics, world, business, technology, sport, environment, science, culture, and more.
- Match — Each headline is analysed against a curated dictionary of 40+ emoji categories. Keywords are scored and weighted, with multi-word phrases given bonus points. The highest-scoring emoji wins.
- Display — The emojis appear in a clean grid. Tap any one to reveal the full headline, a short description, and a link to the source article.
